Today the students turned in their journal and trivia entries for the past 4 weeks. They are reminded that ever tardy deducts two points from their total score for that submission. They were also given back their graded tests for Chapter 1. The students who did not pass the test or received a 70% or lower will have the opportunity to re-take the test by the end of the week. No re-takes after Friday.They are reminded that the Health articles are due this Friday. We continued with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Today the kids had a trivia question about Demi Moore. They also turned in their signed grade reports from home for credit. They also turned in their vocab if they were not in class on Friday to turn it in. They then had a test on Chapter 1 as mentioned earlier. The HEALTH ARTICLE IS DUE ON FRIDAY!!!!
Passes will be given out tomorrow and the Journal entries will be collected on TUESDAY.

Today we continued One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The kids were reminded to take notes for credit. They also turned in their vocabulary today as well. We had a JOURNAL ENTRY: THINK OF A TIME WHEN YOU JUDGED SOMEONE UNFAIRLY. BY THEIR APPEARANCE, BEHAVIOR OR GENERAL REACTION. HAVE YOU BEEN ON THE OTHER SIDE, AND HOW DID IT MAKE YOU FEEL. I read them the story from HMFC about Allen Iverson as a background for the journal entry. There is a TEST ON MONDAY...COVERING THE CHAPTER 1 CHAPTER REVIEW THAT HAS BEEN PASSED OUT TO YOU AND GRADED. STUDY IT!!!!! ALSO....grade reports went out today and are to be signed and returned for credit ASAP!

Today the kids had a journal entry that was about Aaron Ralston's story of having to saw off his arm as depicted in the movie 127 hours. The students were to respond to that story from HMFC. They were then allow to participate in SSR or work on some other work for the remainder of the class. Including working on their vocab that is due on FRIDAY!!!

Today the kids had a trivia question. We went over Chapter 1 notes for general health information. And the students are reminded that their vocab is due on Friday. If you happen to have missed today, please see me for a copy of the notes. Tonight is Senior Night for the Boy's Soccer Team and I am giving extra credit to those who come out to support the kids. You must find me and come up to me and shake my hand (and give a bump :) )in order for me to recognize that you were there. Let's go help make tonight special for these boys. They've worked really hard for Catalina, let's show them we appreciate their efforts!

Today the kids for the most part presented their health articles from Friday. They were assigned VOCAB: cognitive, affirmation, susceptible, implication, boundary, suppression, procrastinate, competence, conscience and compassion. The words are to be defined and used in health related sentences for full credit. They also had a journal entry as well What would you do with 14.6 million dollars. This was based on the story in HMFC about Latrell Sprewell and the gentleman that won over 14 million dollars in this weekends lottery.

Today the kids had both a journal entry and a trivia question to make up for the missed one since I was out yesterday. The journal entry asked:If you could choose the manner of your death, would you? What would it be? It's morbid I know, but it was the first one that I came to in picking them from my book.
The health article is due tomorrow, don't forget the articles must go along with the summaries for full credit.
